It’s Super Bowl Sunday! After months of games and cheering on our favorite teams, the big game is here. Of course it’s also the perfect time to share some of the amazing NFL football players who love and help animals of all kinds.
Willis McGahee, currently on the Cleveland Browns, has notoriously donated his star power to PETA campaigns in the past. Willis isn’t the only NFL player who has supported animal causes for PETA. Glenn Dorsey of the San Francisco 49ers, as well as now-retired players Aaron Curry and Lance Briggs, have also promoted animal causes with PETA in the past.
Tyrann Mathieu, currently playing with the Arizona Cardinals, video taped himself inside a car during scorching temperatures to raise awareness and help educate people and pet owners about the dangers of leaving pets in hot cars.
Adding to the league’s players that help animal causes are many pet owners. Vernon Davis of the Denver Broncos, Tim Tebow of the Philadelphia Eagles, and Drew Brees of the New Orleans Saints, are all dog owners. They join a long history of now-retired players who have been spotted with furry friends of their own. What a cool crew of NFL players. Thanks to everyone in the league who love and support animals and animal causes!
