If you’ve ever adopted a rescue or shelter dog, helped one in need or fostered, you likely know all too well the “freedom ride.” Known as the first few minutes the animal has been taken into care, it’s often one of the sweetest moments, especially for dogs but also for pets of all kinds. We’re not sure but it somehow seems that the animals know when they’re being taken somewhere good, be it a foster, rescue, or forever home. Some smile from ear to ear, some get much needed sleep or rest, while others just sit back and enjoy the ride. We found a few great reads that share awesome freedom ride photos. You can check them out here and here. So heartwarming and inspiring! If you’re interested in helping animals in need, we’ve got a great post here with tips and insight. If you’d like to open your home to foster an animal in need, you can read all about fostering tips and ideas here, too.
The photo above is the “freedom ride” for one of the dogs fostered by our Kuddly team! She’s now in a permanent, loving home after life on the streets as a stray after being abandoned or lost.
