Kuddly was birthed from the reality that pet owners and veterinarians just aren’t connecting as much as they used to, and due to a variety of reasons. Co-founders: Lucy, Josh, and Paul, wanted to solve that dilemma. In a world where vets and pet owners are distanced by time and location, Kuddly is the answer.
Kuddly is the only convenient app giving you access to professionals who can best educate you on everything you’ve been “googling” about your pet. Vets on Kuddly take the guesswork out of the situation, and help connect you to the resources that you need to help you the most. A professional opinion.
Without the ability to professionally judge or critique the information we find on the web about our pets, we’re left putting our pets’ health on shaky ground and in a pool of uncertainty. And since we pet owners have any number of myths we’ve been taught about animals stored in our minds as well (ex. all animals are wild they can take care of themselves), we may conclude any number of situations as “non-emergency” when indeed, they are definitely an emergency. Domesticated animals do need human help sometimes.
The # 1 reason you need Kuddly all boils down to one question:
Are we in touch with our pets’ health so well that we can sit back and not ask a professional a few questions for less than a cup of coffee?
There are two ways to bring help into your household. Kuddly offers mail and chat sessions with veterinarians. We encourage you to actually spend time reading the profiles of our veterinarians, checking out their interests, and biographies to see if a particular vet seems right for you and your pet.
And depending on your situation use mail or chat to connect.
When should I use mail on Kuddly?
Mail is used for situations where you can wait on an answer for up to 24 hours. These prices start at $2 and average around $3 on our app. Questions that might be asked through mail could be related to the following:
- Vaccination schedules (not reactions to a vaccination)
- Food choices (raw food vs. organic vs. canned)
- Behavior
- Introducing your pet to a new environment
- Training your pet
- Home-made treats you’re thinking about baking for your pet
- Heartworm treatments
- Dental hygiene
- Skin conditions
Though this is a short list, know that most questions aren’t strange to vets – since they definitely want to help you.
When should I use chat on Kuddly?
Chat is used for those situations that are more immediate or for those pet owners who prefer to dialogue with a vet in real time. If you are in an emergency situation and you know it, take your pet to the nearest veterinary hospital.
Pet owners can ask vets on Kuddly any question from mail on chat plus more. We find chat is the go-to choice for those who travel with pets because you get an immediate answer from the veterinarian. In fact, you can connect to the vets in the state you’re traveling in – so if there ever was a situation where you needed to come in, you could drive up to the vet’s clinic.
Here is another short list of questions you could ask a vet about on Kuddly.
- Pet diarrhea or vomiting (early stages)
- Guidance during delivery
- While you wait to get to the vet clinic or hospital if you can’t reach a professional
There are countless possibilities on Kuddly. Connect. Explore. Ask questions.
