Oh, the tension between cat people and dog people. Both pet owners are typically proud of being either a cat or dog person––its almost like a sense of pride! You can actually guess a lot of things about someone’s personality based off of whether they prefer cats over dogs or vise versa. Now, not all cat or dog people are exactly alike, but there are general traits that each pet owner tends to have.
Dog People Are Extroverts
Yes, dog people are more likely to be sociable and outgoing. This might be because they tend to be more active and bring their dogs to places where they talk to other people––such as the park. Cat people are more likely to be introverts and aren’t as outgoing. In comparison, cats themselves aren’t as outgoing either.
Cat People Are More Open-Minded
Cat owners tend to be more open to new things than dog people, who tend to be more conventional. People who own cats are typically more creative and imaginative.
Dog Owners Are Conscientious
Maybe its because they’re like their owners, because dogs are quite obedient; dog owners tend to have good self-discipline.
Cat People Are More Likely to Live Alone
Owners of cats are more likely to live in an apartment, and it’s said that single women are the most likely individual to own a cat. Dog owners, on the other hand, need more space for their pets to run around in. Plus, they seek companionship; cat owners seek affection.
Dog People Are More Likely to Live in Rural Areas
Dogs need space to run and exercise. They’re owners are alike, in a sense that they are more active and energetic.
Cat Owners Less Dominant than Dog Owners
Dog people are more likely to be persistent, forceful, and assertive.
Different Tastes in Humor
Cat people tend to like more sophisticated or ironic humor whereas dog people tend to like humor along the lines of fart jokes.
Different Opinions on Opposing Pets
Dog lovers tolerate cats; in fact, a lot of dog owners own cats as well, but they can still be classified as “dog people.” In comparison, cat lovers tend to hate dogs.
